Inspired By: The 80s

Today I thought I should better change the way I dress and opt for the 80s inspired look. Something that would definitely remind me of Madonna, she introduced the new black which was very much in vogue. She tried different textures and patterns of black clothes and redefined the colour in such a way that now it is said to be the most fashionable colour. The 80s were known for the punks, the grunge look and the gothic look.

So in remembrance of 80s, I opted for darker hues in my outfit. However I didn't let go of some colours in my attire. Therefore I opted for feminine mini.

Accessories can speak what you are trying to portray and can therefore can make or break an outfit. So, for the 80s grunge look, I made sure my accessories are hardcore and so I opted for fur cross cuff and knuckle ring from Aldo.

Not necessarily all the accessories you wear should look grungy, to add your personal style go for something that speaks you you are. I went for this long blush floral necklace.

Dark resembles 80s pop music and ankle booties. Never let go of your peep toe ankle booties and hold it till the spring ends....

Look Of The Week: Meeting His Parents

Hello!!! Fashionholics!

It's weekend! Starting today every Saturday I am going to bring Look of the week.

What you are going to find here is an easy solution to what you would be wearing to a particular occasion, event, on weekend or just on a casual day.

So, today, "my look of the week" is.......drumroll.....drumroll......."Meeting His Parents"

So, many of us who are meeting our date's parents have encountered this situation of fretting over whether to go conservative or dress up according to what your boyfreind thinks is right. Well, some of us would go extreme and dress up like plain Jane to impress his parents. On the other hand there are rest of us who do not care about whatever people think and would bring out the inner diva by opting for something unexpected! So, what happens in the end either we end up being overdressed or underdressed.

Do not fret it's time to take the matter in our hands and bring about a permanent change in the way we all dress up when meeting his parents.

So, I take it as a challenge to come up with a style solution for all the Fashionholics out there.

So, the first question you ask.........
Should I go for conservative?
My answer: Yes, but with a touch of modernism
Second question you ask.......
Should I go for trend or basic?
My answer: Balancing both
Your Third and final question might be......
What should I wear when I don't know how his parents are or what they prefer?
My answer: timeless pieces with a touch of your very own style statement.

So, I am here to give fashion advice to those of you who are invited to meet your boyfriend's parents for the first time. Well, the situation is pretty pressurized for those of you who do not know the place where you would be meeting them.

So, my step by step fashion rules are:

1. A timeless peasant style blouse in solid colour is perfect
2. Too many bracelets and accessories are distracting, so a big no no.
3. A statement necklace is a yes! Make sure it's not clashing with your top....you want it to be visible.
4. Since midi pencil skirts are feminine and conservative,it's an appropriate choice.
5. Mixing prints are fun! Go for a printed skirt and printed bag like this polka dot one below.
6. When choosing your shoe go for basic colour like black, white or brown in comfortable material
7. If you are on the shorter side, prints that are vertical are mandatory for you ( check out the skirt below)
8. To be on the safe side contrasting colour always works than clashing one like this yellow skirt and Crimson top.
9. Remember that platform elongates your leg and are comfortable to walk around.
10. Add your own style statement....it can be orange lips, polka dot bag, moto jacket...etc.

However if you are not a skirt person, go for dress pants, cigarette pants or even culotte, the trick is to balance one trendy item with a timeless one. Always go for heels until you know that the place you are going to meet them is an outdoorsy one. Finally the biggest and the most cliche fashion tip is known by all of us....it's to be yourself and smile.

So, this was the very first look of the week....hoping to hear from you soon. Let me know what you like about this weeks "look of the week" and also what other "look of the week" you want me to blog about.

Xoxo.

Trends To Try: Saint Laurant AW 2015

Hey Fashionholics!
Did you ever try goth trend? If you do not like the look take ideas about this particular trend from Saint Laurent.
Check out the photos for more trends.

1.  Goth Princess: The make up, the shoe and leather jacket says it all ....that it's been inspired by goth. However Saint Laurent turned the whole goth trend with pretty fit and flare dress, tulles, colourful fur jacket and fish nets.
Fashion Tip: Wear this trend with fish net and ankle boots

2.  Knife pleated skirt: There were lots of dark pleated skirt with short blazer in Saint Laurant
Fashion Tip: Try it with tweed blazer and loafers

3.  Tulle: Goth does not have to be leather dress and choker. Go for tulle dress, dark make up and edgy accessories.
Fashion Tip: how about try a tiered tulle dress?

4.  Glam meets goth: I absolutely adore this trend. There were mixture of animal print with shiny black material and goth inspired cloaks with shimmery shift dress.

If I have to choose one it would definitely be goth princess trend. Which one was your favourite?

Style Tips & Tricks: Slouchy Is Creative!

There are lot of style tips to learn from new arrivals of Zara.....I created these 3 different slouchy looks from their website.
Look 1 is for those doesn't love this trend and likes nice and proper fit. So, my advice for those who would love to try this trend is play it safe with one slouchy element rather than creating whole head to toe slouchy outfit.

Look 2 is for those who loves trying out new trends but dislikes the idea of going extreme. Therefore the look is for those who is always first on trying out new trends and is creative with outfits. Try a slouchy trendy jumpsuit with statement necklace.

Look 3 is for those divas who takes style in to next level and therefore is a trendsetter than a trend follower. So follow your heart and do whatever you like coz there is only one rule in fashion and that's no rule.

Check out the looks below and let me know which look suits you the best.
