Parsons Teen Vogue: Retail Marketing

This is again another blog post written for the Parsons Teen Vogue to complete the certificate program in Fashion Industry Essentials. Here, I am given the task to visit local stores or malls and walk past the retail display. I am given the task to observe floor layout, main walkways, placement of sales item and composition and placement of displays. Here I am given the task to take a picture of the most compelling display and to write why it works in my blog.

Since I was in Singapore and out of my 2 resident countries, Canada and Bangladesh for a while, I decided to visit local malls of Singapore. I went to Orchard road and visited high street brand outlet that offers the best fashionable and on trend items: Zara.

The thing that made this particular Zara outlet in Singapore to be so attractive is it is spaced out and I loved the colour coordination of displays.

This particular display has got my attention the most.

I think this above display works to attract the customers to enter the store because all the mannequin are in the middle of the sale floor and at the front facing the onlookers who are passing by the store.
What I love about this display is all the mannequins are spaced out and are placed in a zigzag way. I love the colour theme for the mannequins: Blue and White. The mannequins portrays clothes that are based on the tropical island and summer season theme. I love the fact that different and dramatic necklines are chosen for each of the mannequin showing a great visual styling of this particular Zara store. Moreover the display has roomy yet fashionable silhouette showing the SS 2016 trend. There are racks that were placed behind the 4 mannequins to shop the most covetable and on trend clothes displayed by the mannequins.

Look Of The Week: Road Trip

Hey Fashionholics!

Happy Saturday and just like every week I bring you look of the week.

It's end of spring and I am sure everyone is looking forward to warmer days. Here, in Toronto the temperature is going to rise within the next couple of days and it's the best opportunity to go out of the city and explore new places and beaches and towns. So today I bring how to effortlessly look stylish and feel comfortable on a road trip.

Road trip is always so fun packed with foods, picnic baskets, music player and lots of fun. Since you would love to enjoy the whole trip and want to be comfortable and yet fashionable at the same time you should focus less on chunky accessories and more on functional items.

So, here are my step by step fashion tips on achieving today's look of the week, check them out.

1. Before reaching for your outfit, start with shoe. If you want to make a statement go for something gold or silver. However make sure it's comfortable.
2. Messanger bag, larger tote or bucket bag are functional and easy to carry and so these are some of the options you should consider on a road trip. For bohemian inspired look go for fringe, like this Zara bag this summer.
3.  A simple shortsleeve boxy top in light pastel colours is what you are going to look for this summer with  printed comfortable joggers. If you want to make a statement go for solid colours at the top and prints at the bottom
4. Finish the look with statement necklace like this Fringe one below.

The look above is affordablly cheap. Shop the look below.

Hope you love the look of the week and please comment on what you think about this week's look. Write to me about where are you travelling this summer and what would you love to wear on a road trip.
Xoxo.

Look of the week is here and just like every Saturday, this Saturday I brought some fun way to tackle your outfit dilemmas. Since it's hot out there and you are sure to throw or receive lots of party invitation, it's better to note down some last minute outfit ideas or any other wardrobe and style tips from your favourite site. I would suggest Instyle and Who What Wear since they are the best at giving the most unique and mind blowing fashion tips you can ever think of.....

So, fashion lovers what are your plan this summer? Summer is all about beaches, rides and fun at the pool parties and its also the best time for wedding.

So, Today my "look of the week" is .....drumroll....drumroll.....beach wedding.

Got any wedding invitation yet? This summer if you are invited to any beach wedding go for a long sleeve short number and add unique accessories.

Read on to know more about this look.
Check out my tips to be the most unique and stylish wedding guest of summer.

1. While there would be many who would choose halter and strapless dresses in knee length, try a mini dress instead with long sleeve.
2. The more crazy prints the better. But do not overdo it. Go for a statement making printed dress like this Zara mini dress with long sleeves.
3. Cocktail ring sets look cool with anything, try something like this aquamarine or blue if you want to create a perfect match with the setting.
4. Head bands are not only super cute but keeps your hair away from your face. For a windy beach night wedding choose something like the one above.
5. I love clutches that are unique and goes with your dress. Have fun with accessories this summer season by going for something that matches your outfit. Notice both the dress and clutch print looks similar.
6. However both the clutch and the dress have contrasting colour (black and white).....and similar size prints definitely makes the outfit look spectacular.
7. It's ok to go for white even if you are not the bride. The trick is to go for fun prints and embellishments.
8. Flats are for the beach since there might be the possiblility of music and dance all night....I suggest going for metallic flats like the Zara one above.

So, these are the tips for looking your best at the beach wedding without looking better than the bride!!!

So, let me know what you think about my tips and also let me know in the comments if you want to add any of your tips to this short list.

Hope to hear from you soon and stay tuned coz next week would be another fabulous "look of the week" helping you with the best outfit solution.

Style Tips & Tricks: Slouchy Is Creative!

There are lot of style tips to learn from new arrivals of Zara.....I created these 3 different slouchy looks from their website.
Look 1 is for those doesn't love this trend and likes nice and proper fit. So, my advice for those who would love to try this trend is play it safe with one slouchy element rather than creating whole head to toe slouchy outfit.

Look 2 is for those who loves trying out new trends but dislikes the idea of going extreme. Therefore the look is for those who is always first on trying out new trends and is creative with outfits. Try a slouchy trendy jumpsuit with statement necklace.

Look 3 is for those divas who takes style in to next level and therefore is a trendsetter than a trend follower. So follow your heart and do whatever you like coz there is only one rule in fashion and that's no rule.

Check out the looks below and let me know which look suits you the best.
