Parsons Teen Vogue: Production Standards

As I am doing the Parsons Teen Vogue Fashion Industry Essentials certificate program I have to make various research trip. Today I am given the task to go to clothing retailer that carries different brands. I am given the task to try on different items and choose the best that fits. Then I should try on identical items for example in my case printed pants from different brands and write a blog post about the number and sizes of identical items of different brands that fits. Here I am given the task to write a blog post on the number of different sizes of the identical item that fits the best.

Since I am back in Bangladesh I went to a thrifty clothing retailer called Spark Gear which carries different brands including H&M, Zara, Marks And Spencer etc.

I have worn different items in the store and decided to do a blog post about the item that not only fits the best but looks great on me: Printed Pants. 

There were 10 Printed Pants from various brands in that store only 2 fits me the best. One is UK size 10 (Charles Voglele ) and the other is UK size 8 (Marks And Spencer).

What I learned from my research trip to Spark Gear is that different brands have different sizes and not all the brands follow the UK size chart, there are USA and Euro size charts as well. Moreover some brands have size 8 as the medium while others have it as large.

Black and white can be interesting!

I have been thinking of wearing the classic trend black and white again. So, to attend a family get together.I thought I should keep my outfit low key yet comfortable. However I played with my accessories to bring out the best from my outfit.

I am still in love with wide leg pants and a print like this one looks great with any kind of top.

I am lover of floral prints and all pretty accessories. So I would suggest my readers that next time ditch your floral dress and go for floral bag instead.

Travel In Style: Singapore 2015

I recently went to Singapore to get my mom's eye treated. Thanks to the doctor and excellent nurse and remarkable service of Glaneagles hospital of Singapore my mom is recovering faster. I am in love with Singapore and with its vibrant culture, food and people. Since I have heard lot about the lavish life and excellent fashion sense of Singapore women I thought I should put a lit bit of effort to my travel outfit. As we ladies agree it is mandatory  to wear comfortable clothes when traveling, it is also advisable to travel in style.

To match the colourful and vibrant culture I opted for Forever 21 cullotes and Sears printed top. I wanted to accessorize as little as possible but I couldn't resist wearing this gorgeous fuzzy brown crisscross cuff from Forever New of Kolkata. I love the detailing and the fact that I can take it off easily before going through security machines. I went for Aldo structured bag where I could fit almost everything from passport to lipgloss to eyeliner to pen and every necessary items. I finished my look with Marie Claire pink ballets and messy ponytail.

Mixing Bright Colours With Neutral Colours

Hi beautiful fashionistas! Do you love mixing bright colours like I do? Today I will talk to you about how I recently wore bright colours with light colours.  It's not hard to implement both bright and earthy tones in one outfit but it's a bit tricky to go for two bright colours with one neutral colour. Here is my new outfit off the day where I mixed  two bright colours red and teal with beige skirt. I love bright teal with basic colours like black and white but I also love this colour with beige and bright shades.  If you are not sure to wear two bright shades together keep the colours farther away from each other like I did here in the pictures.

A tunic is sometimes confused as short dresses, but I would rather call it a long top. If you own a bright printed  tunic, wear it with your favourite pencil skirt for office.

Geometric print is fun and a bright one like this teal one stands out with colourblock red and beige bag.

Accessories should never be boring if your outfit is conservative. Go for daring colours and colour blocks.

Slim fitted, stretchable skirt is what you should look for if you want to stay comfortable all throughout the day and go for small details like golden buckles on your skirt!

Add a bit of sparkle with bracelets around your wrist.

Mary Jane inspired pump shoe makes any formal outfit looks super feminine and cute.

Tropical Fall

Hey Fashion Lovers!

I came back to Bangladesh in order to finish my graduation  and would go back to my residence country, Canada as soon as I am done with my education and my moms medical treatment. It has been difficult to adjust here in Bangladesh lately because of extreme humidity and hot weather. It's October already and Bangladesh being a tropical country there is no sign of chilly weather or any sign of Fall. My outfit choice has changed a great deal lately due to extreme hot and humid weather. I go for softer fabrics and tend to go more and more for florals. However to celebrate the advent of  "so called " Fall in Dhaka I went for the dark romance trend. I went for black floral comfy slip on pants from Walmart and paired it with grey geometric print top from Catseye of Bangladesh. I focused more on the accessories this time since I won't be pulling off any moto jackets or military trend once again since I am back here. I went for two cuffs instead of one....double is more fun! I also wore this statement necklace from H&M and envelope bag from a street market in Bangkok. As for shoes I avoided my usual preference for wedges and platforms and went for slip on sandal from Aldo this time and that too a statement making gold colour to finish my  "Tropical Fall look".

Fashion Revolution: Who Made My Clothes?

Hi Fashion Lovers! Do you know who made your clothes.....? Do you know the brand name?

 24 th April is Fashion Revolution Day . On 24 April 2013, 1133 people were killed and over 2500 people were injured when the Rana Plaza factory complex collapsed in my city Dhaka, Bangladesh.Such social plus environmental catastrophic situation continues and its high time we need to change the scenario. 

On Fashion Revolution day, I, Qazi Fabia Hoq would like to honour all the people who died in the tragic death of Rana Plaza Plaza Factory collapse.

Today, on fashion revolution day, I know the brands behind my outfit and accessories. So, today I wore a shift tops with gorgeous neckline from Catseye, Bangladesh. Black maxi skirt from George, Walmart. Ivory studded wedges from Khadim, India. Stacked bracelets from, Call It Spring, Canada.

Just like every other today I have my very own fashion tips to share with you guys.

Fashion Lessons to follow from my today's ootd are as follows:

1. Fashion Tip: shift top + maxi skirt + statement wedges + stack of bracelet.

2. Mix And Match: Go for tops or shirt with gorgeous neckline and finish the look with stack of bracelet for a night out instead of lots of chunky accessories.

3. Colour Combo: Ivory shoe + blush bag 

4. Hairstyle Tip: Wavy lob hair that falls loosely on either of your shoulders.
