No More Print Shaming!

Wearing prints from the same colour family are so last season and since its 2016 I believe, fashion has emerged in a new and more refined way. In this era people would do anything to put a stop at the stereotypes and go out of their way to stop all the 'shamings' that they have previously encountered by  doing blog posts, posting videos, pictures etc. So here I am to stop print shaming.

So, what is basically print shaming and why people are oppose to the idea of trying completely different prints in different colours? It's basically because we would end up looking fat and bigger than our true size. However isn't the idea of fashion to play with different patterns, prints, fabrics, styles, design and accessories? So, I don't know why people are oppose to the idea of trying different prints in different colours and patterns! If you are worried about prints making you look bigger than what you are try different accessories to divert the attention from the large print and making your whole look proportioned and balance.

Check out my pictures below to let me know about what you think about my mixing of two different prints in completely different colours. I opted for dotted pajamas and check print top.

If you are heavy in the top just like me, divert the attention away from your prints by opting for big top handle structured bag in light colour. I opted for beige top handle structured bag from Aldo.

As I have mentioned accessories are key element in your outfit that could do wonders and even make you look lean, try unexpected colours when it comes to accessories. Go for lighter accessories if your prints look darker. Wear light colour accessories on or near the narrowest part of your body! For example since my hips are narrowest part of my body I went for powder blue shell cuff bracelet to divert the attention away from my print and make my body look proportional.

Blending your accessories with your print is also the trick to be fashion forward and lean..... Go for accessories with colours that are similar to your prints. Not necessarily you have to go for same colour accessories as your printed separates but wear something that blends naturally. It's a trick to make the prints look surprisingly good. I opted for light green statement necklace which blends with my printed top
In my outfit there are not three or four but six colours (black, brown, beige, powder blue, Crimson, light green) and they surprisingly blends making me look leaner and proportional. The trick is not in the prints, cuts, shapes and silhouette but on the accessories that are adorned which executed well.
Let me what you think about my outfit!

Travel In Style: Singapore 2015

I recently went to Singapore to get my mom's eye treated. Thanks to the doctor and excellent nurse and remarkable service of Glaneagles hospital of Singapore my mom is recovering faster. I am in love with Singapore and with its vibrant culture, food and people. Since I have heard lot about the lavish life and excellent fashion sense of Singapore women I thought I should put a lit bit of effort to my travel outfit. As we ladies agree it is mandatory  to wear comfortable clothes when traveling, it is also advisable to travel in style.

To match the colourful and vibrant culture I opted for Forever 21 cullotes and Sears printed top. I wanted to accessorize as little as possible but I couldn't resist wearing this gorgeous fuzzy brown crisscross cuff from Forever New of Kolkata. I love the detailing and the fact that I can take it off easily before going through security machines. I went for Aldo structured bag where I could fit almost everything from passport to lipgloss to eyeliner to pen and every necessary items. I finished my look with Marie Claire pink ballets and messy ponytail.

Check out the pictures taken at the Amex lounge of Dhaka airport and let me know what you think about this particular look.

How To Wear Over The Knee boots In Office

Hey Fashion Lovers ! What's your Autumn must have? I bet it's over the knee boot trend. Over the knee boot dominated the Fall Winter 2015 runway and every street style star to celebrity has styled those sexy boots this fall. What are you waiting for? Have you worn them yet? If yes try them for office this season. However this particular trend is associated with sexiness and it's hard to make it a bit less bold and more conservative and put together. Stop fussing over and read on to know the trick to wear them at your work place.

Go for your old favourite button down but keep your outfit playful with printed mini. There are lot of variety to choose from when opting for prints. Geometric prints, polka dots, patch work, floral, mosaic, dark florals, butterfly print etc. It's not necessary to add print, you can opt for bright colours. However make sure your mini is not full of ruffles and pleats. Too much of texture is a huge blunder for office. Make sure that your mini is not way too short for the office but short enough for over the knee boot trend. Now here is the best part : to make your outfit work wonderfully for the office put on a blazer. If your skirt is playful and flirty like the one below go for dark colour blazer. On the other hand if your mini is neutral colour and has sophisticated shape and cut go for bright trendy blazers. As for your accessories a simple gold cuff can take you from work to party. Add a bit of sparkle with stud earrings if your hair is neatly tied up in a sleek bun or pony tail. Finish your look with a lipstick that goes with your skin tone and makes you look pretty.
Let me know what you think about this trend and how you would style it.

Tropical Fall

Hey Fashion Lovers!
I came back to Bangladesh in order to finish my graduation  and would go back to my residence country, Canada as soon as I am done with my education and my moms medical treatment. It has been difficult to adjust here in Bangladesh lately because of extreme humidity and hot weather. It's October already and Bangladesh being a tropical country there is no sign of chilly weather or any sign of Fall. My outfit choice has changed a great deal lately due to extreme hot and humid weather. I go for softer fabrics and tend to go more and more for florals. However to celebrate the advent of  "so called " Fall in Dhaka I went for the dark romance trend. I went for black floral comfy slip on pants from Walmart and paired it with grey geometric print top from Catseye of Bangladesh. I focused more on the accessories this time since I won't be pulling off any moto jackets or military trend once again since I am back here. I went for two cuffs instead of one....double is more fun! I also wore this statement necklace from H&M and envelope bag from a street market in Bangkok. As for shoes I avoided my usual preference for wedges and platforms and went for slip on sandal from Aldo this time and that too a statement making gold colour to finish my  "Tropical Fall look".

Check out the pictures below and let me know what you think.

Trend Alert: Black Maxi Skirt

Hello Fashionholics!

Today I would like to share how  to wear the trend maxi skirt. The combination of maxi skirt with butterfly sleeves gives the whole look a feminine yet bohemian look. So, my ootd includes maxi skirt, butterfly sleeves baby pink top, an ivory bag, green cuff, 90s inspired earrings and clogs.

Read on to know more about the timeless trend, the black maxi skirt.

1. Ruffle detail looks great if it's light colour. Darker ruffles are good as well but if you want to stand out from the crowd go for ruffle blouse in light colour.

2. Mix Green with baby pink. This unexpected colour combo looks great with solid colour incorporated in them.

3. The rule of "less is more" never goes out. When it comes to make up or defining your best face structure nothing is better than following less is more make up trend. When you are running errands your favourite lipstick, mascara and eye liner works wonder. Dab a little bid of moisturiser ( it should be really little) all over your face. You can also go for hydrating serum if you want to avoid moisturiser in summer.

4. Play with your sleeves. Enough of boring sleeves this spring try new sleeve trends like butterfly sleeves, balloon sleeves and dramatic poetic sleeves.

5. Try the stunning 90s earring trend. Such bigger unique earrings were common during 90s and I think they are pretty unique.

6. Maxi can be worn with clogs: yes! Why not? If you are bored trying wedges go for old-fashioned clog heels.

Let me know how would you wear your black maxi skirt and what are your fashion tips?

Fashion Tips And Tricks: Spring Is For Fun Prints!

Hey Fashionholics!

Are you looking forward to spring?

Because spring is here and I was in a mood for dressing up in fun prints and lace, I opted for something like pastel yellow and white. So, this top is from Station 21 of Bangkadesh and this white midi skirt is from my favourite store Forever 21. I wanted the accessories to stand out so wore this beautiful chandelier earrings and blue cuff. As for shoes nothing beats the classic pointy toe black pumps.

Check out all the photos for more fashion tips.

1. Be romantic and creative: I love mixing romantic look with fun prints. I absolutely love this crazy prints, I literally have no idea what's this print...there are lots of ballons, hats, bottlees and potion bottles and it seems pretty fun and creative. The bonus point is the colour and gorgeous neckline. So, I wore this fun top with this white lace midi skirt from Forever 21 creating this romantic yet creative look.

2. Bright accessories with light skirt: With colours such as white and off white go for something bright if you want to make it look fun and season appropriate. So this blue cuff looks great with white midi lace skirt.

3. Office to party look: All the working Fashioniholics...listen up: This look is appropriate for office to party look. The trick in this outfit is the pencil midi skirt which gives enough coverage for office and at the same time the lace and fun print is a good decision for going out to a party. Remember to wear a simple understated blazer in solid colour ( black, white, navy blue, grey, beige, camel) while going to the office. Just ditch the blazer when going out to a party.

4. Too big is too perfect: pairing longer chandelier with smaller cuff or bracelet was so yesterday. This year remember that pairing two big items with understated outfit is absolutely okay.

5. Pay attention to necklines: Necklines could make or break your outfit. Sometimes play around with specific area other than focusing on the whole thing. Just make sure don't over do it. Do not go for choker or necklace if you are choosing anything like this one. Go for hoop earrings, long chandelier earrings or fringe earrings. However you may opt for long chain necklaces or pendants instead of shorter ones.

6. Bohemian + polished looks:  This spring season If you are dressing up for office and party at the same time, keep your outfit in light colours (maybe go for fun prints)  less shimmer, more polished....yet add a bit edgyness to the whole look. Therefore I choosed this boho inspired earrings to make the whole look easygoing and effortless.

So, what's your spring look? Let me know in the comments below.
