Fashion Is Fun And Frivolous

I love drama, fun facts, crazy ideas and creativity and that surely reflects in my dressing sense....but recently there are some of the things that has been bothering me and (I am sure )you when it comes to dressing up. It's the opposing of ones style statement!

With hundreds of fashion trends making its way to the runway, there is one trend  that surely catches everyone's eye every year and even this year it didn't fail to be in the must have list for every bloggers and celebs. It's dramatic, it's fun and it makes you look younger: it is the ruffle trend! But have you noticed the drama is not only around the hemline or shoulder anymore ? There has been a lot of dramatic ruffle sleeves on the scene lately making me and you extremely happy! 

Well, thanks to the ruffle trend for inspiring me to write this post! 

Since this trend has taken the retail scene with storm and everyone has been pushing their boundaries and trying out different trends with this ruffle trend, I thought I should dig deeper in to my closet, meditate and come with unique style idea. I thought nothing would look better than mixing crazy and fun prints because life is short and we should live to the fullest. So, here is what I have come up with and I hope my outfit below clearly gives you a message that fashion is supposed to be fun! I thought of opting for stripe palazzo and I am sure seeing the size of the wide palazzo pants you must have thought I borrowed it from a clown ....just kidding.....but trust me it's from a thrift store for only 5 dollar! 

Since I love accessorizing so much and tend to make it my first priority while getting dressed I thought sometimes it is okay to lay all cards on the table and be daring.....I opted for skull and fur cuff, silver statement shoe, long dangling earrings and a black glamorous bag! I am definite that you have understood my purpose of styling for this particular post. I clearly wanted to stop people from judging us the way we look, feel and think!

There are many times I am told that I should be dressed in a certain way and dressed "decently" to blend in with the crowds! I say : No! I mean there is no harm when taking fashion lightly and making it fun! Fashion is an art and is supposed to be frivolous and when you take it seriously it ends up being boring! I mean what harm could possibly occur if you look silly and accidentally become a fashion victim? No one is going to remember that and they will move on while you would sulk with your decision to look like a certain way! It's just a fashion faux pas and it will be forgotten and new day awaits you so you get the chance to make most out of it.

So, this summer season if you love fashion like I do, just go for something fun and be uniquely you! This is because there is only one life and lots of fashion trends! Let's have fun with styles and trends that we adore!

Earthy Can Be Fun

There  are lot of times I have attempted wearing earthy tones but every time I feel like I am just blending in with the crowd and feel like it is not fashion forward! I am usually not seen in earthy tones and feel it's a shame that I am not following the most basic trend of all time. However I also feel that going for earthy tones can be a bit risky since there is a chance of making your outfit look way too boring! When I say boring...I mean it! Suppose you are thinking of spending your day with friends and you think of wearing earthy colours. So what do you choose? brown pencil skirt (first earthy staple) , blue stripe off the shoulder top (trend of the season), caramel bag (second earthy staple) , brown suede statement heels (third earthy staple), statement choker necklace (a statement making piece) ..... There might not be anything wrong with your outfit especially when you are flaunting those off the shoulder top and statement choker. But don't you feel you need to make a statement with earthy tone staples instead of with the trendy and statement making pieces? 

But let's say you disagree with me and want to dress up your earthy tone staples with statement making piece. Even if you dress up your earthy tones staples, say brown dress, how would you make people to look at the outfit instead of statement making accessories?  In that case it is your accessories and trendy items that are doing the trick every time! That's great because A Fashionholic's Life have always stated that "it's the accessories which plays the trick"! But don't you feel you need to give your favourite earthy staple a break and choose something out of the box?

Go for something eye catching and shimmery! Here I opted for shimmery pattern top.

Play with different textures! I opted for lace flared pants

Stick to the basic rule.....Go for statement making and eye catching accessories in similar colours and patterns to complete the outfit

Go for similar silhouette instead of contrasting ones to make a statement! Go for boxy top and flare pant or opt for fitted top and skinny pants...

Patchwork or any other unique print always makes a statement! 

Go for one dark and one light colour earthy tone staples ! This always works no matter how you style it!

I know I have been acting all weird and going crazy over the latest trend that is Spanish Influenced! It just looks way too romantic, feminine, joyous, trendy and fashion forward at the same time, so I cannot help it and thought I should recreate this look with Black And White! Yes you heard that right! I know Spanish style requires a lot of colours especially red. It also requires frills, ruffles, tiers etc. But you can give your outfit a little bit of Spanish touch and recreate them in your own way. Since personal style is important, I have recreated this trend and made it look feminine and experimental at the same time!

So here is what I thing you should have in your outfit to add a touch of Spanish Style and make it look fresh !

Even if the outfit is black and white, you need a bit of flare on your outfit to get in to the Spanish Vibe! Don't you agree?

Bored of ruffles? Why not play with your sleeves.... Go for bat wings, bell sleeves and Victorian sleeves to bring back the Spanish Influenced trend.

Fun accessories that has flowers, leafs and looks spectacular are the main element to transform your look to make it look Spanish.... I went for a asymmetric earrings, leaf knuckle ring, round bag ,red shoes and a flower hair clip.... 

Trust me it is not hard to wear flower on your hair, you can simply wear this without looking overdressed....you just need the perfect dress and accessories.

Maxi skirts are in this year and if you want to rock the Spanish Influenced trend like you mean it, then opt for something that has lot of flares at the bottom and goes past your ankle....

Add a bit of red! If your outfit is simple opt for something red! Red is sexy, fierce, attractive and has Spanish Vibe.....Here I opted for red shoes to make my outfit look refreshing.

Layering Is Not Only For Winter!

Layering is not only for winter! Layering your waistcoat over a summer ensemble can look as good as heavy layering during winter time!! Since I always feel layering can instantly make anyone look put together I thought of wearing my white crochet shrug over my yellow pleated & asymmetric  nature print dress which shouts summer is (unofficially) finally here! 

While dressing up I believe in being comfortable and to be fashion forward. But one can only be fashionista by putting together an outfit that requires thinking out of the box. I love the idea of wearing dress over pants even though many are opposed to this layering technique. Here, I opted for leather leggings instead of pants. What do you think of this outfit pairing?

Sometimes your accessories can speak what you are feeling and it also means how you are portraying yourself to the world. I wanted my outfit to have a vintage feeling to it. I was clearly in the mood for 70s. Fringe earrings, polka dot bag and loafers resembles the 70s and therefore completes my outfit! What do you think?

Add Floral Printed Accessories To Your Spring Outfit

Neutrals? Florals? pastels? Wide-leg pants? Suede? The70s? The Grunge? The 80s?

Well, if I have to swear by one particular item that is a must-have for spring season is floral print! The reasons  are-

• It is feminine
• It never goes out of fashion 
• It is a  spring must have
• You can make this print look dressy or casual.
• It looks great with menswear trend
• It looks appropriate for office.

However this season instead of going for floral sundress go for floral accessories to brighten up your neutral and dark color clothes. Since spring is the transition month when you are unsure about whether to wear your light weight cardigan or store them for the colder season; its better to go for long sleeve shrugs during spring. Also you do not necessarily have to go for pastel every spring. Why not try mature and beautiful colors like beige, ivory, neutrals and earthy tones and see how this neutral yet sophisticated colors change your look?

Brighten your day with sequence. Gone are the days when fashion rules were made to be obediently followed. Go for sequence top in neutral colors like beige for spring.

Easy breezy is the way to go during summer time and since wide leg pant style is still in and rocking the runways of SS2016 go for lace wide leg pants and bring out the inner fashionista.

Just like sequence pearls are not for night time either. Pair it with beautiful and quirky pendants to update your style.

Take the long chain satchel of your clutch out and carry it on either side.Since we are tired of cross body bags why not carry your clutch like a crossbody bag.

As I have mentioned floral accessories are must have for spring, it is also an important item for the girl who loves feminine and timeless style. Make your look stand out by opting for both floral bags and shoes. However keep the rest of your look neutral and stay away from  print pieces if your accessories are busy with colors.

Instead of going for short strand of pearl go for long ones to make your outfit look classy and fabulous.
